The Wrapped Liability report displays the current liability as of the present day from gift cards activated within the selected date range.
This report provides a TOTAL liability, along with a breakdown of liability across each sales channel, allowing you to see where outstanding balances are held.
For a point-in-time view of liability, please refer to the Adjustments Report.
To locate the liability report, navigate to Reports > Liability as shown below.
Example: A customer wants to know the outstanding liability of all gift cards sold in 2024. They would set the Start Date and End Date filters to cover the relevant period, as shown below.
Tip: The Start and End Date filters are set to the start of each day. To ensure all sales for a given day are included, set the End Date filter to the following day.
When the customer runs the report it generates the following fields:
num_gift_cards - The number of gift cards sold in the selected date range.
liability – Calculated as:
Liability = total_issued_value - redeemed - expired
total_issued_value - The total of all gift card credit issued across all sales channels within the selected date range.
redeemed - The amount of gift card credit from the selected date range, that has been redeemed across all sales channels, up to the present day.
expired - The amount of gift card credit from the selected date range, that has expired across all sales, up to the present day.
This report gives a clear view of your outstanding gift card obligations, helping with reconciliation, financial planning, and channel performance analysis.
