Square can be connected to Wrapped by adding it as a sales channel from Settings > Sales channels.
When connected, gift cards can be sold in one platform and redeemed in another. For example, a gift card purchased through Shopify can be redeemed in Square, and a gift card sold in Square can be redeemed online through your Wrapped-powered store.
How the Integration Works
Wrapped uses Square's native gift card functionality, which means all gift cards sold and redeemed through Square are automatically synchronized with Wrapped.
This allows you to:
Sell gift cards through Square and redeem them anywhere Wrapped is connected.
Sell gift cards online (Shopify, WooCommerce, BigCommerce, etc.) and redeem them in Square.
Maintain a single gift card balance across all connected channels.
View consolidated gift card activity and reporting within Wrapped.
Redeeming Existing Wrapped Gift Cards in Square
If you have existing Wrapped gift cards that were not originally created in Square, these needs to be synced to Square before they can be used.
Also, the gift card codes must be entered manually by the cashier.
Square's barcode scanner only supports Square-issued physical gift cards because the barcode format is encoded specifically for Square's gift card system. As a result, Wrapped gift cards and gift cards originating from other connected sales channels cannot be scanned through the Square gift card scanner.
Square Gift Card Load Fees
Square charges a 1% gift card load fee on every gift card balance that is created or loaded into the Square gift card system.
This fee is set and collected by Square and is not charged or controlled by Wrapped.
The 1% load fee applies to all gift cards synced into Square, including:
Gift cards sold through Shopify or other connected eCommerce platforms.
Gift cards imported via batch upload.
Gift cards issued directly from the Wrapped dashboard.
Gift cards sold through Wrapped's online store.
