Staff training - Selling a gift card via Lightspeed Restaurant POS (K-Series)

Selling physical gift cards in your POS is easy and mirrors the usual Lightspeed gift card purchase process.

  1. In your sell screen, select the gift card product from the menu.

This loads the gift card screen as a modal window.

a. If you have physical gift cards, click Find gift card and scan a new card or enter the gift card code.

b. If you are using digital only gift cards, click Generate digital gift card

You must add a customer to the sale so that they receive the digital gift card via email.

If it is a gift, the buyer's email should be added (not the recipient). They can then follow the prompts on the email to send it to a friend with a message. ​

3. It will ask you to enter the amount to add. Enter the value and press Add to sale.

The modal screen will then closed and you will see that the gift card product has been added to the sale. The line item will include the gift card code in the brackets.

4. If the customer wants the gift card to be email to them, add the customer with an email address to the sale.

Adding a customer email to the sale will email the gift card straight away, so should be made clear to the customer If it is a gift, the buyers email should be added (not the recipient). They can then follow the prompts on the email to send it to a friend with a message.

5. Press Pay to process the gift card sale.

The gift card will automatically sync into Wrapped and your connected sales channels.
