Selling physical gift cards in your POS is easy and mirrors the usual Lightspeed gift card purchase process.
NOTE: To sell a digital gift card, you must first add a customer to the order. We recommend using the purchaser’s email address, as the gift card email will include an option for them to share the gift card to a recipient.
In your sell screen, choose the Wrapped Gift Card button.
2. Select Find or activate gift card to sell a physical card, or generate digital gift card for a digital version.
3. Scan the gift card code using either an external barcode scanner or the QR code reader on the right, or manually enter the code printed on the physical gift card, then click find or activate gift card.
(A digital gift card code will be generated automatically)
4. Wrapped will recognize that this is a new gift card. Enter the gift card value to activate the card and load the purchased balance. Click Add to sale.
You'll be redirected to the sale tab and notice that the gift card has been added to the order. Select payment to complete the payment through your Lightspeed Payment gateway.
Optional step: If you want to email the customer a digital copy of their gift card as well, you can add them to the sale with a valid email address. From this email they can send it to a friend if they wish.
5. Finish the sale as normal for the gift card to be activated.
The gift card will automatically sync with Wrapped and your connected sales channels. Please note that it may take a few minutes for the order to be processed before the gift card appears in the dashboard.
