Key benefits of running gift card campaigns

1. Maintain Brand Prestige

Instead of slashing prices, gift card campaigns let you offer added value that doesn’t feel like a traditional discount, protecting your brand’s value.

2. Flexible and Engaging

Gift card promotions are a versatile tool for various occasions: holidays, customer appreciation events, product launches, and more.

3. Drive Increased Spend

When using gift cards, customers are more likely to purchase full-priced items and spend more. Our data shows that gift card campaigns result in an average of 6x ROI.

4. Encourage Loyalty and Repeat Business

By offering gift cards as promotions, you create an opportunity for customers to return to your store and make additional purchases, boosting both short-term and long-term sales.

How Campaigns work

Wrapped's campaign feature allows you to generate a batch of gift cards for a select list of customers and then send an email to your list notifying them of your promotion and containing their unique gift card code, which is redeemable across all your sales channels.

You'll be able to set the gift card amount (which can be different across your audience) and expiry, plus tag each gift card as 'promotional' for accounting purposes.

To set up your own campaign, follow the steps below.

Marketing Campaigns are on Wrapped's Pro, Plus and Enterprise plans. You can manage your plan under settings > billing.

Creating and sending a Campaign

  1. In Wrapped, go to Marketing > Campaigns and click Create campaign

  2. Give your campaign a name and click Save changes

3. Now you'll need to prepare your gift card batch. Go to Gift cards > Batches and click Create gift card batch

  1. Select CSV file

  2. Give your batch a name

  3. Tick Used for promotional purposes

  4. Click Upload CSV and upload your CSV file that contains your promotional gift cards.

To prepare your CSV, you can use this template wrapped-import-csv-template.csv

You'll need to provide:

  • Code: You can leave this blank and Wrapped will generate a unique code for each row on import.

  • Balance: the promotional gift card amount. This can be different for each customer or the same.

  • Expiry: When is your gift card campaign ending?

  • Customer email: So Wrapped can send them your campaign email notification containing their corresponding gift card code from this file.

If you have any questions on generating your CSV, you can leave us a message.

5. Navigate back to your campaign in Marketing > Campaigns and click on it to continue editing.

6. Select the batch you just uploaded

7. Tick Send email notification then click Preview and edit to design your campaign email. Here you'll be able to edit the subject line and email body. Be sure to include important information like:
A link to your online store to 'shop now'

Gift card balance - using merge tag {{balance}}

Gift card code - using merge tag {{code}}

Gift card expiration date - using {{expiration_date}}

8. Click Save and Send a test

9. If you want to schedule sending, tick Schedule and choose your date and time, then click Schedule at the top right.

To send now, leave Schedule unticked and click Send Now when you're ready to send.
