Depending on how you use Shopify, refunding to gift cards can sync to Wrapped to allow these gift cards to be used across all your sales channels. See the different options and scenarios below.
Scenario 1: If a gift card was used as the original payment type, Shopify will let us know and return the funds to their original gift card automatically.
Scenario 2: If the original purchase was not made with a gift card via Shopify, you can refund to a gift card in two ways to ensure the gift card syncs to Wrapped and across all your sales channels:
Use our Loop integration and sync refund gift cards
Use our Shopify admin extension. Read on below for instructions.
Note: If you use Shopify's default refund to gift card option, this does not sync to Wrapped and gift cards will only be redeemable on Shopify.
Using the Wrapped Shopify admin extension
This method will mark the items as refunded and add a note to the order with the refunded amount.
Locate the order to be refunded in your Shopify admin
Click More actions > Refund as gift card (the Wrapped option)
Specify the products to refund and click Refund
