Printing new physical gift cards

Learn how to order new physical gift cards for your Wrapped account, including design, printing, and activation requirements.

Written by Robbie Morris

Many golf accounts already sell physical gift cards through their Golf Shop. If your existing gift cards display a raw gift card code that can be entered into the POS, you can continue using them with Wrapped - there's no need to reprint your existing stock.

If you need new physical gift cards printed, you can bulk generate gift card codes in Wrapped and provide them to your preferred print supplier.

We recommend our trusted partner, Plastic Printers, who are experienced in producing gift cards for Wrapped × Lightspeed Golf merchants.

Through our partnership link, you can connect directly with their team to receive a complimentary design consultation and quote.

Generating a code file to share with a print supplier.

  1. Login to Wrapped and navigate to Gift cards > Batches.

  2. Select Bulk create or import gift cards.

  3. Enter a name for your batch and specify the number of gift card codes you want to generate. Set the gift card value to $0, as the value will be assigned when the gift card is purchased and activated.

  4. Click Create batch.

  5. Once the batch has finished processing, drop down the Actions menu and select Export codes.

  6. Share the codes to your gift card print supplier.

Barcode requirements

The Wrapped × Lightspeed web extension is designed to scan QR codes using the built-in camera on an iPad (Restaurant) or a desktop computer (Retail). If you're using an external barcode scanner with Lightspeed Retail, you may also choose to include a 1D barcode on your physical gift cards for compatibility.

Many merchants choose to include both a QR code and a 1D barcode on their gift card design. This provides reliable scanning across both Lightspeed Retail and Restaurant environments and helps avoid the need for staff to manually enter gift card codes.

Plastic Printers, can produce gift cards with QR codes, EAN-13 barcodes, and/or 1D barcodes (such as Code 128), depending on your requirements.

Important: Whichever barcode format you choose, it must output the raw Wrapped gift card code directly into the gift card code field when scanned.
