In order to connect WooCommerce to Wrapped, we require the installation of WooCommerce plugins to power the checkout experience/functionality.
Installing Wrapped redemption plugin for redeeming gift cards
This is our own purpose-built plugin for redeeming any gift card that is in Wrapped. You can download the plugin directly from Settings > Sales channels after adding WooCommerce.
Download and install the plugin from your WooCommerce admin. Then configure your plugin settings:
Once the plugin is configured, an option to redeem gift cards will show at checkout:
Setting up a product in WooCommerce to sell gift cards online
If you wish to sell gift cards online, you can embed or link to our online storefront.
Or you can set up a WooCommerce product with the following settings:
1. Create a variable product "Digital gift card".
2. Set Tax rate to zero
3. Set SKU to "wrapped_giftcard". This is required, as our system checks for this value when processing completed orders in order to generate a gift card matching the purchased product’s price.
4. Setup some gift card denominations. Ensure the SKU for each option is "wrapped_giftcard"
5. Finally, Save and publish your product.
Note: Wrapped only processes orders with a "completed" status.
Third-party plugins:
Wrapped supports using WooCommerce Gift Cards or Smart Coupons plugin. However, these come at an additional cost and have limitations:
WooCommerce Gift Cards: This is perfect for providing a true gift card redemption experience. A limitation is that all codes generated and synced to WooCommerce must follow the format XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX. You can learn more about how WooCommerce Gift Cards work with Wrapped here.
Smart Coupons for WooCommerce: This plugin provides the most flexibility, supporting any gift card code format. A limitation is that gift cards will be redeemed as coupons (these smart coupons can be redeemed with other coupons and are applied to the order total). You can learn more about how Smart Coupons works with Wrapped here.
