Wrapped allows you to sell digital and physical gift cards through your Shopify store.
When you connect your Shopify store to Wrapped, Wrapped automatically creates the digital gift card product in Shopify. Customers can purchase these gift cards online and have them delivered digitally.
If you also want to sell physical gift cards, you can create a separate physical gift card product directly in Shopify.
How it works
There are two different gift card products in your Shopify store:
Digital gift cards
These are created and managed by Wrapped. Once your Shopify integration is connected, Wrapped automatically creates the digital gift card product in Shopify.
Physical gift cards
These are created as a standard Shopify product by you. When a customer purchases one, you must manually create the corresponding gift card in Wrapped and then send the physical card to the customer or recipient.
Physical gift card workflow
The process for selling a physical gift card is:
Customer purchases the physical gift card through Shopify
The customer selects the physical gift card product, chooses the gift card value and completes their purchase through your Shopify checkout.
The order is received in Shopify
The order will appear in your Shopify admin like any other product order.
Create the gift card in Wrapped
Because the physical gift card product is not automatically connected to Wrapped, you need to manually create a gift card in Wrapped for the value purchased.
Prepare and send the physical gift card
Add the Wrapped gift card details to your physical card and send it to the customer or nominated recipient.
Important: The physical gift card product in Shopify is separate from the gift card issued in Wrapped. Shopify processes the sale, while Wrapped creates and manages the gift card that can be redeemed.
Creating a physical gift card product in Shopify
In your Shopify admin > Products, click Add product
Give your Physical gift card product a title, description and add media
Note, in the above description we say "Add a note at checkout with a special message for your friend". If you want to offer this, you can enable notes to your cart by following these Shopify instructions.

4. Set the product to Active and make sure it is available on your Shopify online store. We recommend placing a test order before making the product available to customers.
When a customer purchases a physical gift card
After receiving a physical gift card order:
Open the order in Shopify.
Confirm the gift card value and delivery details.
Go to Wrapped → Gift Cards and issue a new gift card for the corresponding value, or search the gift card code to adjust the balance.
Add the gift card details to your physical card.
Post the physical gift card to the customer or recipient.
Remember
Digital gift cards: Automatically created by Wrapped in Shopify when your integration is connected.
Physical gift cards: Created as a separate Shopify product and require the corresponding gift card to be manually created in Wrapped after purchase.
When you receive a physical gift card order, you'll issue the gift card in your Wrapped admin or adjust the balance of a Wrapped gift card (if you physical gift cards were printed with a Wrapped batch) before shipping it to the customer or recipient.
